JAKE TAPLIN RACING
Racing Driver
I started racing in hire karts and gained my ARDS licence in 2018 when I was 16. I have raced with Essex Motorsport Services in the Track Day Trophy and the BRSCC MX5 Championship in 2019 and 2020.
Since 2021 I have followed my passion for endurance racing and joined the British Prokart Endurance Championship with Modernised Racing and now with Rethink Racing. Outside of BPEC I am also 2 x Daytona Milton Keynes 24 hour winner.
I hope you enjoy following me through my kart and car races here on Facebook and Twitter as @JTaplinRacing or on Instagram as @jaketaplin_racing.

ABOUT
I started karting at Brentwood's after school development club in Feb 2016. After a few months I joined their Sunday Junior league racing alongside and learning from some really talented drivers. Early in 2017 I was achieving regular podiums, and I finished 2nd in the championship. By 2018 I was the Buckmore Park Challenge Cup Champion and in 2019 I was the Brentwood Winter All Star Cup Champion, Red Lodge Formula 270 Champion, Buckmore Park Summer Pro Series Champion, and Club73 Steve Bateman Novice Champion, and finished 2nd in the overall Club 73 Super Pro championship. I was also awarded the Buckmore Park Chairmans Cup for Outstanding Achievement.
Also in 2019 I founded the karting endurance team Sims Design Racing, we took second place in the Buckmore Park 24 hr race in April this year, and we finished 2nd in the UK SODI rankings.
I started my move to car racing in 2018 when I gained my senior ARDS licence. During 2019 I worked with my coach Barry Lee and the talented guys at Essex Motorsport Services to rebuild and race a MK1 Mazda MX5 in the MSV Track Day trophy series. We competed in the end of season race at Brands Hatch in November that year finishing 5th in class and 22nd overall. The pandemic and a huge accident at the opening weekend at Cadwell Park put paid to our plans in 2020 to compete in the Mazda Championship. For 2021 I focussed on my partnership with Modernised Racing and Haase compete in the British Prokart Endurance Championship finishing the year as Overall Clubman Champions. Midway in 2022 I joined Rethink Racing and Apollo, during the year we worked on building a well balanced team of drivers and support, which has seen us take some podiums this year. Outside of pro kart racing I have managed a 24 hour hire kart endurance team for a number of years, collecting three 24 race wins and a number of top five finishes.
